in her first shows as a purebred! Photo by Penthea Burns
CH 'PR' GreatMountain Tanaina, CGC, is a graduate of the COA CrossBreeding program. She is from the GreatMountain "Tribute" litter (CH 'PR' Hurricane Nokomis Dream to GreatMountain X Tanacross).
Tana is CERF normal and has OFA "Excellent" hips. She has completed (several times!) the highest level of pet obedience training and we hope to have her compete in the Obedience ring soon.
Tana made her debut as a purebred in the UKC shows held during the weekend of March 7th and 8th, 2009, with absolutely fantastic results (photo above left). She particpated in all four shows and won Best of Breed (BOB) in each show, earning Tana the title of Champion! By taking the BOB, she moved on to the Northern Group competition. In two of the four shows, Tana was placed first in the Group (Group1 win) and went on to compete in the Best in Show competition; an exceptional accomplishment in her first show weekend! We knew of Tana's potential at an early age. In 2007, at the age of 9 months, she won Best Cross Female under Hon. Judge Fred Lanting at the Chinook National Specialty. The following year, Tana took Reserve Cross Female at the 2008 National Specialty, under Hon. Judge Patrick O'Donnell (photo above right). She just loves "playing show" with her Dad!
The Chinook Drive
Tana is a great example of the drive a sled dog needs to do its job. Here are some photos to show you just how "enthused" Tana can be. "I just love to pull" Rounding 3rd and heading for home "I'm a dog for ALL seasons!" Tana is a great catch!
Someone loves to play hard! "So, how do I look flying through the air?" "Look, I can even catch it with my hands!"
And after all of that playtime.......
.... a nice, comfortable deep sleep
